IR Receivers

IR receivers (infrared receivers) are devices designed to send and receive a coded infrared signal from one device to another. The receiver outputs the unique identified code the other receiver can decode, understand and turn into the desired action. The infrared signal is invisible to human eye. For a proper operation, both receivers need to physically see each other. Ideally, they should be positioned in a straight line but as the light waves, the same as all other waves can be reflected from the wall or glass.Features & BenefitsMany types of IR receivers are available on the market but generally, they can be categorised by features such as:• Supply Voltage• Carrier Frequency• Transmission Distance• Power Dissipation• Package TypeTo choose the right receiver you need to consider your project requirements. For some users, the transmission distance isn’t as necessary as for example the power consumption. From the wide range of IR receiver available on the market, the user is going to be able to find the one that meets all needs.
